Hot.

I am hot today. I think it is almost eighty degrees in the house. I think tomorrow I will jump in the outdoor pool for a while.
I was asked by the swim director at our pool to help with swimming lessons to fill in for several of her teachers who are at a camp this week, so tomorrow and Thursday I will be helping there. That is why I will be in town to go to the pool.
I have been busy working on my Bible Bee stuff. I am sad that this year they did not have the computer game to help learn verses in the box. You have to buy it. :(
If this post seems to go everywhere without being in any order, I'm going to blame it on the heat. I am not looking forward to ninety degree weather.

Well, now I've done it

Two years ago I posted frequently, and when I read blogs of people who didn't post often I thought that they needed to hurry up and post something fun so I could read about it. Now I'm those other people, posting only occasionally. So, here is a picture of a sombrero Jason made.

Today was the Bible Bee competition. I think I did fairly well. Now I just have the torture of waiting till we get the results. :) It's going to be strange not to have the Bee coming up soon.

A Cooking Mishap

Has anybody ever made No-bake Chocolate Oatmeal Flour cookies? I might have made a new cookie! I was making No-bakes and when it was time to add the oatmeal I was two cups shy. :( So I used flour instead. The little girls are scraping out the pan, so I assume the cookies will turn out. :)

This and that

I'm still around. Last week I went to soccer camp and had lots of fun again. I really enjoyed singing at chapel. If anybody wants to come with me next year you are more then welcome. :)

On Monday I cut my hair and donated it to Locks for Love. Now it's the shortest it's been for two years.

I've been working on memorizing verses for the Bible Bee. Just over a month and I'll see how well I did compared to the others doing the Bible Bee.

We will be starting school in just over two weeks. I'm ready for some of it, but not to thrilled about the rest such as chemistry and geometry.

Last night was the last night of track. :( I beat my best time for the 1/2 mile for the year!

I'm going to be doing lots of baking today. One cake is already out of the oven, I need to make another, and will do three bread stuffs.

I suppose that's about it.

Hello! Just to clarify a point, I am alive. :)

I'm a little burned out right now. I made have four bowls of cookie dough in the fridge and I also made some no-bakes. Does anyone want to come ball cookies for me? :)

Yesterday I had a friend come over so I had fun. The only bad part is she beat mi in Dutch Blitz! :) Oh well, I'll just have to practice.

Tuesday we did some sewing. Four new pairs of shorts and a shirt finished.

The first day the snow was pretty, the next day it was OK, now I want it gone.

I was invited to go to Florida and now I'm ready. :) We (my grandparents) leave in less then two weeks I think!

FRENCH BRAIDS!!!!!!!

The darkness was all around me each and every day
I was tired of the darkness and I wished it'd go away
I tried to get out of the darkness every single day
But with each step I took, the darkness just got worse
The dark was getting black now and I still had no light
I wished I could get out of this endless night
Then I spotted a light, a light in the dark
I thought and I wondered could I get out of this dark?
I went towards the light that dark black night and this is what I saw
I saw the light of Jesus Christ shining through a friend
I knew right then and there that I wanted that light too
My friend told me the answer was Jesus Christ
He'll give you light to face the night that is very true
So be a light in the dark, you may never know
What poor soul sees Jesus' light shining right through you

Christmas Hats

This is a Christmas hat. It is not hard to make but if I remember correctly it takes a bit of time. First you take about a quarter inch of a toilet paper roll and about eight inches of yarn (times however many times you have to wrap) Fold your yarn in half, put in next to the tp roll and loop the yarn through itself. It should look something like this. Except with the tp roll, not a finger. :P Repeat. And repeat again. And repeat again till you get the yarn all the way around
Than push the yarn through so the "knots" are on the bottom and the ends are sticking up.
Tie the strands together, trim as desired, and you have a Christmas hat.
